For CMO, the starting point for a production isn’t necessarily the international market, but rather the story it aims to tell and the audience it’s aimed at. Ana Barreto, the company’s CEO, explains that recent productions have been designed primarily for Colombian audiences, although some have ended up reaching viewers in other countries through global platforms.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe haven\u2019t set out to reach the region or the world. Fortunately, we\u2019ve succeeded because of the type of stories we tell and, I believe, the quality we\u2019ve achieved with them, but our focus has been more on producing from Colombia for Colombia,\u201d says Barreto.<\/p>\n

This journey has been marked by projects such as The Marked Heart and The Guest<\/a>, while CMO is preparing new titles. The company has also remained committed to supporting local talent, with teams made up almost entirely of Colombians, and to filming in locations other than the usual ones.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re always looking for ways to show a different side of Colombia,\u201d explains the executive. That search led the company to film, in the case of *La Hu\u00e9sped*, in areas near Bogot\u00e1, including the forests of El Neusa; and recently, in Medell\u00edn, for a new project they undertook. According to Barreto, the goal is to find settings that complement the stories and help broaden the visual representation of the country.<\/p>\n
