Netflix continues to expand its Latin American catalog, now with the premiere of La Huésped, a Colombian production that combines eroticism and psychological suspense in a 20-episode plot that challenges the stability of a family and explores how far revenge can go.
The story centers on Silvia, played by Laura Londoño, a woman trapped in the final stretch of her marriage to Lorenzo, a man who aspires to become Attorney General, and the personal drama of her daughter Isabela, whose struggle with methamphetamine addiction threatens to tear apart what little is left of the family. It is in this context of vulnerability that Sonia appears, brought to life by Carmen Villalobos, whom Silvia had met during a solitary trip and with whom she establishes an unexpected intimate bond.
The tone of the series is somewhat peculiar, as psychological suspense and eroticism give way to an exploration of human frailty, repressed desires and the risks of opening the door to the unknown. It is a story where tension grows episode after episode, with Sonia as the catalyst of destruction.
