The Colombian production company CMO and the Argentine-Peruvian Kapow announced a strategic alliance with the objective of “strengthening independent production in Ibero-America”, according to both companies.
The announcement, made at Iberseries & Platinum Industry, did not provide further details about the collaboration, but focused on the combination of production capabilities from Colombia, Argentina and Peru, territories where both companies operate.
“We are convinced that this alliance will open up new opportunities to tell stories that transcend borders and connect with a diverse and demanding audience,” said the executives of both companies.
Based in Bogota, CMO has produced high-profile titles such as the Netflix series ‘Pálpito’, ‘La venganza de Analía’ and ‘La huésped’, as well as feature films such as ‘Siempre viva’, ‘Soñar no cuesta nada’, ‘Como el gato y el ratón’ and ‘El rey de la montaña’.
For its part, Kapow is a production company born in Argentina, from where it entered the world of premium fiction with ‘Estocolmo’ (Netflix). In 2021, the Peruvian media group América Televisión acquired 50.1% of the company, which led them to work on the development of a regional production hub in Lima, based at Pachacámac Estudios América.
Some of Kapow’s notable productions include titles such as ‘Envidiosa’ (Netflix), ‘Felices los 6’ (HBO Max) and ‘El presidente’ (Amazon Prime Video).
